Summer in Bansko offers many outdoor activities including walking, cycling, fishing, horseriding and fishing. The pirin mountains are part of the Pirin National Park and are under the protection of UNESCO because of the unique ecosystem including centuries old forests and the mountains which are very rich in wildlife, flora and fauna. The pirin range is the sunniest mountain area in Bulgaria and temperatures can reach up to the mid thirties.
Within Bansko village most cafes and mehanas have outdoor seating and patios where you can watch the world go by and enjoy local beer, wine or have a meal.

There are over 130 lakes within the pirin mountains. The mountains have many stunning walking routes connecting huts and shelters in the region. The highest peak in Mount Vihren (2915metres) which is also third highest in the Balkans. The pirin mountains rival the alps with rugged peaks, great ridges and panoramic vistas, yet are little visited in comparison so you can still appreciate the peace and tranquility
